Scholarships are a way to encourage bright students. It’s not always about requirement. Even if, you are not as such in financial need, getting a scholarship will boost up your confidence level.

For needy students, grants and scholarships pave the way for further studies. This is the reason while sting any grant, financial aspect is taken in to consideration by the institutions. Here, I am going to discuss about pell grants.

This is a scholarship given in US to well performing students. However, while awarding he grant, some other factors are also considered. Let’s have a look at these factors:

* First and the foremost, you must fill FASA form. Properly adhere to all the instructions before filing this form.

* Next consideration is regarding income. To eligible for pell grant, your family income should be less than $50,000 per annum. However, the commission funds most of the students having income lesser than $20,000.

* This scholarship is available only to US citizens. However, in certain cases, noncitizens are also eligible. In that case, you must have a permanent resident card and also follow other directions as required.

* You must be an undergraduate student. In some of the cases, you are also eligible if you have completed your degree i.e. dentistry or pharmacy.

* You must be studying a program that will give you certificate of either diploma or degree.

* You also need to declare that you are not a defaulter in loans etc.

So, these were some of the pell grant requirements. This scholarship no doubt helps financially needy students but also encourage others to perform well in their studies. There are many other scholarships given for non-academic areas like many admissions arte given in sports quota in colleges. In addition, if you have been a national or state level singer, you will be given relaxation in admissions.

So, try hard and try hard to perform good. But remember, studies are not only done for grants and scholarships. You should always keep a higher goal in mind of achieving good success.
